Anniversary payout lifts annual dividend to ¥55
Kyuden expects to pay a year-end dividend of ¥30 per share for fiscal 2027, comprising a ¥25 ordinary dividend and a ¥5 commemorative dividend. Combined with the interim dividend of ¥25, the forecast annual payout is ¥55 per share.
| Dividend per share | Interim | Year-end | Annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Previous forecast | ¥25 | ¥25 | ¥50 |
| Current forecast | ¥25 | ¥30 | ¥55 |
| FY2026 actual | ¥25 | ¥25 | ¥50 |
The annual dividend is ¥5 higher than both the previous forecast and the prior-year result. Kyuden's revised year-end forecast specifies the ordinary and commemorative portions separately.
Payout marks 75th anniversary and launch of new structure
The commemorative dividend marks the 75th anniversary of Kyushu Electric Power and the establishment of Kyuden. The company cited its appreciation for shareholders and the launch of a new group structure as reasons for the payout.
- Structure change: Shareholders approved the transition to a pure holding company structure, and Kyuden was established on Oct. 1.
- Dividend payers: Kyushu Electric Power paid the ¥25 interim dividend, while Kyuden is scheduled to pay the ¥30 year-end dividend.
The dividend commemorates the launch of the new structure through a return to shareholders. The annual total includes interim and year-end payments from different group companies. Shareholders will receive the additional ¥5 in the year-end payment, but the increase is a forecast for fiscal 2027.

The annual dividend forecast is ¥5 above both the previous forecast and the prior-year result, with the difference identified as a one-time commemorative payout. Investors assessing the change in shareholder returns should distinguish the ¥25 ordinary dividend from the ¥5 commemorative portion rather than focus only on the ¥55 annual total. The interim and year-end payments will also come from different companies following the transition to the holding company structure.
