Office Environment Business: Revenue reached a record ¥40,514 million (+2.7% YoY), with segment profit up 6.3% to ¥2,480 million. Renewal demand from nationwide office renovations and public-sector upgrades drove growth, alongside expansion of B2C task seating and overseas initiatives.
Commercial Environment Business: While revenue slipped 4.9% to ¥28,543 million, segment profit surged 15.6% to ¥1,149 million thanks to price adjustments and cost rationalization. New store openings remained sluggish amid elevated construction costs, but inquiries and orders are trending upward for the second half.
Logistics Systems Business: Revenue plunged 23.7% to ¥3,497 million on weak order carryover, but the segment swung to an operating profit of ¥110 million from a loss of ¥205 million a year earlier, as structural cost cuts took hold. The company is pushing toward becoming a logistics system integrator to capture DX-driven demand.

Full-Year Outlook
Okamura left its full-year forecast unchanged from the May 8 announcement.
| Previous (May 8) | Current | FY2026 Actual | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | ¥347,000M | ¥347,000M | ¥204,129M* |
| Operating profit | ¥26,000M | ¥26,000M | ¥24,136M* |

| Net income | ¥21,100M | ¥21,100M | ¥22,414M* |
*FY2026 full-year results (12 months). Note the planning for higher revenue and operating profit, but net income down 5.9% due to the absence of securities gains. Q1 progress is 21.3% of revenue and 13.2% of operating profit, in line with a back-end loaded pattern.
From July 1, 2026, the Office Environment Business will be renamed the Work & Life Creation Business and the Commercial Environment Business will become the Commerce Solution Business, though segment boundaries and accounting remain unchanged.
Risks and Challenges
The company flagged the following risk factors:
- Rising raw material and energy costs and supply chain disruptions amid Middle East instability.
- Prolonged economic slowdown in China.
- Interest rate hikes and inflation eroding margins.
- Workforce shrinkage and AI-driven workplace change.
- Elevated construction costs suppressing new store openings in the commercial environment segment.
- Logistics orders may not recover as quickly as planned.
Okamura is tackling these headwinds through demand creation, cost reduction, and structural reforms under its mid-term plan.
Analyst take
A broadly solid start, though the quality of operating profit growth without revenue growth remains in focus. The office environment business's strength is powering results, but revenue declines in commercial environment and logistics systems cast doubt on the mid-term plan. The logistics segment's return to profitability is positive but the earnings structure remains fragile; order recovery in the second half is critical. The drop in net income is temporary, and the market will likely applaud the operating profit gain. Dividend increases and a high equity ratio provide defensive appeal.
