Murata raises full-year FY2027 forecast
Murata raised its consolidated forecast for the year ending March 2027. The new projections are higher than the previous estimates across all items, from revenue to profit attributable to owners of the parent. Murata also expects every item to exceed the previous year's actual results.
| Metric (¥100 million, except per-share data) | Previous forecast | New forecast | Previous-year actual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 21,100 | 22,600 | 18,308.56 |

| Earnings per share (¥) | 185.68 | 218.80 | 127.66 |
Revenue is 7.1% above the previous forecast, while profit before tax is up 18.0% and net profit 17.2%. Operating profit is 20.9% higher than the prior estimate. Murata expects revenue, operating profit, profit before tax, net profit and earnings per share to all rise from the previous year's actual results.
Data center demand and production gains support outlook
The main reason for the upward revision is stronger demand related to data centers. Murata expects that demand growth to push revenue above its previous forecast.
- Revenue: Rising data center-related demand is expected to lift full-year revenue.
- Profit: Higher production volumes are expected to generate operating leverage and boost earnings.
- Product mix: An improved product mix is also expected to support profit.
- Forecast review: Murata revised its full-year outlook after taking its interim consolidated results into account.
The revision reflects not only higher sales from stronger demand, but also the expected contribution to profit from production levels and changes in product mix. Murata's explanation points to several factors behind the higher profit forecasts.
Currency assumption unchanged, actual results remain uncertain
Murata kept its foreign exchange assumption for the period from the third quarter onward at ¥155 per U.S. dollar, unchanged from its previous forecast. The revision does not include a change to the currency assumption.
Murata said its forecast is based on information available at this time and includes uncertain factors. Actual results may differ from the projections as business conditions change. Investors will be watching not only demand trends, but also whether production volumes and product mix develop as Murata expects.

Murata raised its revenue forecast on the back of data center-related demand and factored in higher operating leverage from increased production, as well as an improved product mix, in its profit outlook. The plan now exceeds both the previous forecast and the previous year's actual results. The key question is whether stronger demand translates into results, with investors watching the durability of demand and actual production and product-mix trends in upcoming results. Murata left its currency assumption unchanged and cautioned that its forecast remains subject to uncertainty.
