Daifuku posted record first-half orders, revenue and profit for FY2026, with sales up 8.9% to ¥355.5 billion and operating profit gaining 10.9% to ¥56.68 billion. Fueled by AI-driven semiconductor demand, the company raised its full-year earnings forecast and hiked its annual dividend guidance to ¥90.
Earnings Highlights
Daifuku reported record first-half results for FY2026, with orders jumping 31.6% year-on-year to ¥440.1 billion. Revenue rose 8.9% to ¥355.5 billion, operating profit grew 10.9% to ¥56.68 billion, and net income attributable to shareholders increased 14.7% to ¥43.14 billion, all setting new interim highs.
Growth was driven by surging investment in advanced semiconductor production lines for generative AI. Subsidiary Clean Factomation (CFI) saw orders soar 80.2%. A high order backlog carried from the previous fiscal year supported revenue, while profitability improved on semiconductor system deliveries. Foreign exchange also provided a tailwind: the average USD/JPY rate shifted from 147.66 to 158.46, boosting orders by roughly ¥18.1 billion and operating profit by ¥2.7 billion.
Given the strong first half, Daifuku raised its full-year forecasts. Revenue is now projected at ¥735.0 billion (+11.2% year-on-year), operating profit at ¥113.0 billion (+12.1%), and net income at ¥86.5 billion. The annual dividend was also lifted to ¥90 per share from ¥78 previously.

| Others | 79,339 | +27.7% | 10,642 | +79.7% |
Daifuku (standalone) revenue fell 16.1% to ¥112.6 billion due to the timing of large project completions, but orders surged 47.5% to ¥141.5 billion, signaling a strong second half. Segment profit rose 9.3% thanks to improved non-operating income.
Contec posted higher sales and nearly doubled its profit, supported by strong domestic demand for industrial computers.
Daifuku North America (DNA) sales grew 12.1% on airport and general manufacturing projects, though profit declined 12.6% due to the absence of especially high-margin contracts booked a year ago.
Clean Factomation (CFI) benefited from AI-related semiconductor investment, with orders up 80.2%, revenue more than doubling to ¥40.0 billion, and profit nearly quintupling. Operating margin improved sharply.
Daifuku Suzhou (DSA, China) orders rose 76.9% as domestic semiconductor localization spurred continued investment, while sales and profit were roughly stable.
Others (62 domestic and international subsidiaries) saw sales climb 27.7% and profit jump 79.7%, driven by semiconductor production line systems in Taiwan, South Korea and elsewhere.

Financial Position and Capital Policy
At the interim period end, total assets stood at ¥803.1 billion (up ¥48.9 billion from the prior fiscal year end), net assets at ¥501.6 billion (up ¥50.1 billion), and the equity ratio improved to 62.5% from 59.9%.
A decrease of approximately 4.44 million treasury shares linked to exercise of convertible bonds reduced capital surplus by ¥4.2 billion and treasury stock by ¥11.4 billion, contributing to higher net assets. Retained earnings grew ¥26.9 billion from the accumulation of interim net profit, and foreign currency translation adjustments added ¥6.8 billion, further strengthening the financial base.
Cash flow from operations came to ¥52.0 billion (¥7.7 billion higher than a year earlier), supported by ¥58.7 billion in pretax profit and ¥6.8 billion in depreciation, despite ¥16.8 billion in income tax payments. Investing activities consumed ¥23.6 billion, including ¥13.9 billion for fixed assets and ¥16.6 billion in deposits ahead of the Eisenmann acquisition. Free cash flow was positive ¥28.4 billion. Financing activities used ¥18.4 billion, mainly for ¥15.6 billion in dividend payments.
Daifuku raised its interim dividend from ¥34 to ¥46 per share and its planned year-end dividend from ¥44 to ¥50, bringing the full-year forecast to ¥90 (up from ¥78 in the previous fiscal year), underscoring a commitment to stronger shareholder returns.
Full-Year Outlook
Daifuku significantly raised its FY2026 consolidated guidance, reflecting faster-than-expected progress on semiconductor line projects and a revised exchange rate assumption of ¥158 to the US dollar (up from ¥150). The order forecast was also lifted to ¥860.0–¥900.0 billion.
| (¥ billion) | Previous Forecast (A) | Revised (B) | Change (B–A) | % Change | FY2025 Actual |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 700.0 | 735.0 | +35.0 | +5.0% | 660.7 |
| Operating Profit | 105.0 | 113.0 | +8.0 | +7.6% | 100.8 |
| Ordinary Profit | 108.5 | 116.5 | +8.0 | +7.4% | 104.7 |
| Net Income | 80.0 | 86.5 | +6.5 | +8.1% | 77.8 |
The weaker yen assumption alone contributed ¥30.0 billion to orders, ¥24.0 billion to revenue, and ¥4.0 billion to operating profit. Together with solid underlying demand, the company is now poised to deliver record full-year earnings.
Strategic Topic: Eisenmann Acquisition to Strengthen European Automotive Business
On July 1, 2026, Daifuku acquired all shares of Germany’s Eisenmann GmbH for ¥16.6 billion in cash. Eisenmann specializes in industrial painting, surface treatment, and conveyor systems, and holds advanced automation and environmental load reduction technologies for European automakers.
The acquisition enables Daifuku to offer integrated solutions, including painting processes, that comply with European standards, complementing its existing material-handling systems. It is expected to expand order intake and customer value in Europe, aligning with the group’s long-term vision, “Driving Innovative Impact 2030.”
Risks and Challenges
Escalating Middle East tensions and global economic uncertainty remain risk factors. While Daifuku has no direct production or sales presence in the Middle East, indirect effects, such as higher material costs from crude oil or logistics disruptions, and deferred customer investment, could weigh on results.
- Geopolitical risk (Middle East, US-China friction) disrupting supply chains
- Sharp forex swings, particularly excessive yen appreciation
- A downturn in the semiconductor cycle leading to capex cuts
- Profitability pressure on large-scale projects
- Post-merger integration of the Eisenmann acquisition
However, Daifuku’s order backlog has reached record levels, limiting the near-term downside risk to earnings.
Analyst take
Exceptional demand for semiconductor production lines, particularly at Clean Factomation, propelled Daifuku to record interim results, highlighting the generative AI investment wave. While standalone Daifuku’s sales declined on project timing, a 47% order surge points to a sharp second-half recovery. Currency gains provided a lift, but underlying earnings power is clearly improving. The balance sheet improved, with the equity ratio reaching 62.5%, leaving ample capacity for further growth investment even after the Eisenmann deal. The stock’s trajectory hinges on the sustainability of the semiconductor boom and the record order backlog.
