Tsubaki: Raises FY2027 operating profit forecast to ¥26.6bn
Tsubaki lifted its FY2027 forecasts to ¥355 billion in revenue, ¥26.6 billion in operating profit and ¥28 billion in ordinary profit, citing yen weakness and strong motorcycle business. Net profit remains at ¥22 billion, below the previous year's ¥29.708 billion.

Operating profit forecast raised to ¥26.6 billion

| Metric | Previous forecast (¥bn) | Revised forecast (¥bn) | Previous fiscal year (¥bn) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue | 350 | 355 | 295.878 |
| Operating profit | 25.5 | 26.6 | 21.578 |
| Ordinary profit | 26 | 28 | 24.804 |
| Net profit attributable to owners of parent | 22 | 22 | 29.708 |
The forecasts cover the full fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, from April 1, 2026. Compared with the previous forecast, revenue is up 1.4%, operating profit 4.3% and ordinary profit 7.7%. The net profit forecast is unchanged, but remains below the previous fiscal year's result.
Weaker yen and motorcycle business drive upgrades
Tsubaki said revenue, operating profit and ordinary profit are now expected to exceed its previous forecasts, partly because the yen has been weaker than assumed at the start of the fiscal year.
- Foreign exchange: The yen has traded weaker than the company assumed at the start of the fiscal year.
- Mobility business: Business related to motorcycles has performed well.
Currency movements and strength in the motorcycle business contributed to the higher profit forecasts. Tsubaki said its projections are based on information available at the time of the announcement, and actual results may differ due to various factors.
Net profit expected to trail previous year's result
Forecast earnings per share are ¥217.39, down from ¥218.17 in the previous forecast and below the previous fiscal year's ¥295.80.
The expected decline in net profit from the previous fiscal year is an important consideration alongside the higher forecasts for revenue and operating profit. Tsubaki did not explain why it kept its net profit forecast unchanged or lowered its earnings-per-share estimate.

The revision reflects yen weakness and strong motorcycle-related business, lifting forecasts for revenue, operating profit and ordinary profit. The net profit forecast is unchanged from the previous outlook and remains below the prior fiscal year's result. Investors will be watching whether currency tailwinds and motorcycle business strength persist, and whether higher operating and ordinary profit forecasts eventually translate into stronger net profit. The durability of the upgrades and the divergence between profit measures are key points to monitor.
