Joshin also raised its full-year forecasts for revenue and profit. The operating profit forecast was revised up 83.3% to ¥11 billion, compared with ¥5.422 billion in the previous year.
| Metric | Previous forecast | Revised forecast | Previous-year result |

Early air-conditioner demand helps drive upgrade
Strong appliance sales, led by air conditioners, contributed to the higher interim forecast. Joshin cited the following main factors:
- Air conditioners: Demand was brought forward ahead of tighter environmental standards under laws including the Fluorocarbons Emissions Control Act, a trend known as the “2027 problem.”
- White goods: Refrigerators, washing machines and vacuum cleaners generally performed well.
- Beauty appliances: Products such as high-performance hair dryers remained firm.
- Personal computers: Replacement demand appeared to have run its course, making sales trends different from those in other product categories.
Based on interim results and recent trends, Joshin also raised its full-year forecast. The stronger-than-expected appliance demand is reflected in the full-year outlook, but some air-conditioner purchases have been brought forward, making future sales trends important to whether the forecast is met.

The increase in interim earnings prompted Joshin to make a substantial upward revision to its full-year operating profit forecast. A key point to watch is demand brought forward as customers respond to tighter environmental standards for air conditioners. Resilient sales of white goods and beauty appliances are also supporting results, but the effect of earlier purchases on subsequent demand remains uncertain. Whether strong first-half performance continues in the second half will be central to assessing the full-year target.
