The revised forecasts represent increases of 14.3% for operating profit, 13.9% for ordinary profit and 18.2% for net profit compared with the previous outlook. Sales are unchanged, while all three profit forecasts have been raised. The new forecasts also exceed the previous year's actual results for sales and each profit measure.
Pricing adjustments, cost controls and Southeast Asian growth
CMP raised its profit forecasts after reviewing its outlook in light of results through the second quarter. The company cited the following factors:
- Previous forecast assumptions: The outlook announced on July 3 included a degree of risk to account for uncertainty surrounding the situation in the Middle East.
- Selling price adjustments: CMP reviewed progress in adjusting selling prices in response to higher raw material costs.
- Cost controls: The company factored in efforts to contain various expenses.
- Regional profit growth: CMP expects profit growth in Southeast Asia to exceed its earlier assumptions.
The higher profit forecasts despite an unchanged sales outlook reflect selling price adjustments and cost controls, as well as stronger regional earnings. Investors will be watching how much progress on pricing and growth in Southeast Asia contribute to full-year results.
Currency assumptions and forecast caveats
The revised forecasts use the average exchange rates for the period from January through September 2026. They cover the full fiscal year ending March 2027, from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027.
CMP said the forecasts are based on information currently available and assumptions it considers reasonable, and are not a promise that the results will be achieved. Actual performance could differ materially due to a range of factors.
The revision updates the previous outlook, which had incorporated uncertainty over the Middle East, based on results through the second quarter and current business conditions. When assessing the higher profit forecasts, investors should monitor whether pricing adjustments, cost management and earnings growth in Southeast Asia continue in line with the company's expectations.

With sales unchanged and profit forecasts raised, the revision centers on selling price adjustments, expense controls and earnings growth in Southeast Asia. It points to an improved profit outlook rather than higher revenue. The key test will be whether pricing progress and regional growth continue as CMP expects, while uncertainty such as the situation in the Middle East remains a factor.
